New UK Trade Body: Water-Dispenser & Hydration Association (WHA)

January 31, 2020

The UK water dispenser and hydration Industry is being revolutionised by the formation of a new trade body – the WHA (Water-dispenser & Hydration Association). This new association represents the amalgamation of the BWCA and the EDWCA, offering the Industry one strong voice and with unimpeachable standards, giving an audited mark of quality for Customers to look for, with unequalled support for operators.

The UK water cooler Industry has undergone a transformation over recent years, with companies expanding their portfolio to include HORECA products, water fountains, under-sink taps and hot water boilers, to now offer hydration solutions for all markets. This wide range of products and markets are all supported under the umbrella of the new ‘Water-dispenser & Hydration Association’.

WHA’s Chairman Jon Wicks said: “The UK industry has been well served by both Associations. Now that the sector has grown to become £140 million in value with consistent growth over the past 6 years, the time is right to improve still further the representation of the existing Members of both Associations. It seems wise to have a single body to lobby, set standards of excellence and promote sustainable and healthy hydration”.

The WHA will be launched on Thursday 19th March 2020 in centrally located Milton Keynes, at the DoubleTree by Hilton.  Entitled “Celebrating our Industry Evolution”, it will feature a morning conference, networking lunch, afternoon trade show and charity auction industry dinner.  A full day for the UK water dispenser and hydration industry to get behind this exciting initiative.
