BWCA 2018 AGM & General Meeting

September 28, 2018

Jon Wicks welcomed 50 Members to the 2018 BWCA AGM and General Meeting held on Wednesday 19th September at Brandon Hall near Coventry, UK.

He reported that despite the UK finding itself in a “Brexit Bubble” the market remains fairly stable.  Growth, it is estimated, is similar to the last few years, but with the fabulous summer weather bottle sales have been exceptionally strong.

As well as the usual official element of the meeting Peter Brooks, Deputy Chair gave the feedback from a Members’ Survey carried out earlier in the year – asking Members for their views is a key part of the organisation.  The BWCA has been keen to offer Members tangible benefits to being a Member and in 2018 introduced free Microbiological services, developed online training in Customer Excellence and completed POU research to help Members attain best practice.

General Manager, Phillipa Atkinson-Clow talked about her role in the Association, reporting that 45 training courses had been run by the BWCA in 2017, putting over 400 delegates through a variety of training courses, both mandatory and non-mandatory.
